interesting, Shyam. nice questions. sadly, very few answers!
True.
i think what we are or what we do or what we seek is actually what others expect us to do simply because they have failed. 'meaningful life' is a forgotten thing, too difficult to remember.
The people you talk about feel that they are helping you. Thats the sad part.
The most fallacious feeling of all-- when you do think they help you.
True :)
I was just reading "The Witch Of Portobello" by Coehlo... The questions you raise and those discussed in the book are similar. That apart, I guess its all about what we take away, than what we are after... just thought i should mention it!
Ah nice book.
I dont get this part. I" guess its all about what we take away, than what we are after"
What i meant to say was something along these lines...
At the end of the day, what matters most is probably what one made out of his/her life. "The introvert forced to socialise" may take from his experience 'anger for mankind', or he may learn to enjoy company... That 'thing' one take away from your experiences forms an integral part of life whether one likes it or not. The thing may be good or bad, but it still has a say in "What makes a content life?" Sorry if i am too abstract!
Very true.Thats looking at it from an exactly opposite viewpoint. And yes it does have a say.
